Start with the stay, not the star rating
A central room for a short visit, a quieter hillside retreat and a family room solve different problems. Before comparing prices, decide who is travelling, how many rooms you need and what would make the stay comfortable. A hotel category alone does not tell you the room size, sleeping arrangement or whether breakfast is included.
Give hotels a request they can answer
Include exact check in and check out dates, every guest and a realistic budget for the whole group per night. Separate essentials from preferences. If a private bathroom is essential but a balcony is optional, say so. Hotels can then explain the room and inclusions they can actually offer.
Compare a complete price
Look at the total for the entire stay, including mandatory taxes and fees. Compare the same room, guest count, dates and cancellation conditions when checking the public reference rate. Optional meals and transfers belong outside the room total unless the offer explicitly includes them.
Before you choose
- Choose your room count and bed arrangement
- State any essential facilities
- Compare the total and payment conditions
- Wait for the hotel’s confirmation
Questions & answers
Do all hotels in Kandy receive my request?
No. Requests are intended for participating hotels that match your requirements. A hotel must have availability and choose to respond; the size of the city’s accommodation market does not describe our participating network.
Can I compare different hotel standards?
Yes. Compare the offered room and conditions as well as hotel category. A higher category hotel may offer a competitive room price while charging separately for breakfast.
