Count beds as carefully as guests
Two adults and two children may need a family room, two rooms or extra beds. A room’s maximum occupancy does not necessarily explain how everyone will sleep. State the children’s ages and whether you want everyone in one room. Ask the hotel to confirm each bed and any extra bed charge.
Check meals for the whole family
Breakfast included for two adults may not include children. Ask about children’s meal charges, breakfast hours and the price for the full group. If food allergies or dietary needs affect your choice, ask the hotel to confirm what it can accommodate before accepting.
Make access part of the request
Mention cots, stairs, lifts, room proximity and other practical requirements. If a pool matters, ask about children’s access, depth and supervision rules. Never assume a family label guarantees a child pool or a room arrangement that suits your children.
Before you choose
- Add all children and ages
- State each bed and room needed
- Confirm children’s breakfast and extra bed costs
- Ask about cots, steps and pool rules
Questions & answers
Is a family room always cheaper than two rooms?
No. Compare the hotel’s proposed arrangement and total for all guests. Two suitable rooms may sometimes offer more space or a better total.
Can I require connecting rooms?
You can request them, but the hotel must explicitly confirm the arrangement. Nearby rooms and connecting rooms are not the same thing.
